What do you want from me God?

Have you ever asked the question - What do you want from me God? Either out of frustration when things don't go right or when you just want to please him because you recognize that God is so good and you just don't deserves to be loved by him. I've asked the question from the perspective of both mindsets. I recently had one bad experience after another and I screamed the question at God (audibly).  I was really telling him that I needed a break. I wanted something to go right for a change.... that is to say, MY WAY. A scripture verse I had read maybe one time came back to mind,  "....... What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God". I had to do an online search to find where the ve...

God Wants Your Junk

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I designed a t-shirt that said “God Wants Your Junk” and I was asked by my niece “What do you mean by Junk – You mean like Junk in the Trunk?”  That was not quite what I was getting at, but I had to say that God does care about what we do with our 'Junk in the Trunk' too. What I really intended to communicate was that God wants us to be rid of those things in our lives that weigh us down, rob us of our joy and most importantly keep us separated from him.  So I modified the design to look like this:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="491" img_size="large" alignment="right" style="vc_box_rounded" onclick="zoom"][/vc_column][vc_column wi...

Time to Get Up

My friend David would love to hear me quoting  his High School’s motto “The Brave May Fall But Never Yield”. He would think that I’ve finally been converted into having purple blood (the school colors) – NOT.  I’ve heard him quote this motto in times of victory and when things didn’t go according to plan. A compelling resolve that those on his team will never give up. It is great to apply this level of commitment to academics or sports, but  doesn’t  God require us to do the same in our spiritual lives. We live out our Christian lives one decision at a time and sometimes we make the wrong choice, listen to the wrong voice, get stuck in a bad habit or fall into sin. But  why do we stay there in that place of disc...

God Sees and Plans Ahead

For months Psalm 11 would pop up in my mind, sometimes in the middle of the night or early in the morning when I awoke. The first time it happened I was curious to know what was in this chapter. I realized earlier that God spoke to me in this way, random bible verses would pop into my mind, verses I had never read, but when I did read it I would find that it answered a question I had or applied to a situation that I was going through at that time. But when I read Psalm 11 it didn’t mean anything to me. I was wondering why God had put that chapter in my mind. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Two verses in the chapter stuck out to me though verses 1 and 4: I trust in the Lord for protecti...
